ALMOND BLOSSOM

Painted in the final year of his life, Almond Blossom is one of Vincent van Gogh’s most tender works. Created to celebrate the birth of his nephew, the painting departs from the darker earth tones of his earlier period and opens into a luminous blue sky filled with delicate white blossoms. The branching limbs, influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e prints that Van Gogh admired, stretch across the surface without a central trunk, creating a feeling of openness, balance, and renewal.
